about me

My husband calls me a food snob, and he’s probably right (although he’s just as bad). I love food. Actually, I really love food. My school lunches as a kid consisted of veal parmesan, pasta, swordfish or other leftovers from the previous night’s dinner. I didn’t try delivery pizza until the 7th grade and was 15 or so when I first realized that not everyone sat around the dinner table each night together for a family dinner after helping prepare it.

I grew up in a very large (read: loud) Italian family. My mom and grandma instilled a strong love of food and passion for cooking in me at a very young age. My family loves its food and wine, and sometimes it’s hard to tell which one more. We cook and entertain a lot. Food and wine brings us closer together and has given me some of my favorite memories.

I have a genuine love affair with my city. I enjoy traveling and exploring new cities, but I’m always happy to come home to Cleveland. This city offers so much  and I consider myself very fortunate to be part of its make-up. I strongly believe in the culinary scene in Cleveland. We have restaurants and chefs that could go up against the best of the best. The reviews are my candid opinions of the places and dishes I try. I’m not an expert, just have an immense passion for good, local food and quality ingredients and like to share what I learn along the way.

When I’m not blogging, I work in marketing communications, specifically within public/social relations. I’m also a freelance writer (covering the culinary scene in Cleveland, of course). Last but most definitely not least,  I’m  a mom to Natalie and Olivia, a wife to Jamie and owner to Stella, our Boston Terrier who basically runs our household.

I'm Cleveland-bred but live in San Francisco now, and I'm headed home for a week this summer. Do you know of any good farmer's markets? My family lives on the West Side but I'm happy to travel for great produce...

Love your blog! I am from the Akron area - but often travel into Cleveland to eat. I am with you...I think Cleveland should be proud of their restaurant scene.

Thanks a lot for your reviews, I appreciate them!

Thanks, John - appreciate the comment!

Nice blog, nice writing, nice voice. But then, not too surprising that a fellow 100% Italian person would serve up such quality.

Hi Michelle,

Long time, no see. Love the blog ... great job!
