mint coming to pepper pike

From the PD restaurant row this morning:

“Sunny and Matt Kanegkasikorn, married partners in the popular Mint Cafe on Coventry Road in Cleveland Heights, are working on a second location. Construction has begun to convert a shop at Landerwood Plaza in Pepper Pike into an 80- to 90-seat restaurant with the same Thai menu as the Coventry spot, which they opened in early 2006. This one will be called Peppermint Thai Cuisine, playing off the location. They’re hoping for an October opening.”

This is fantastic. Two of my favorite restaurants in Cleveland Heights, Mint and Pacific East, will soon be minutes from my house! I absolutely adore Cleveland Heights but can rarely convince my husband to drive out there for dinner. The whole lack of freeway is enough to keep him away.

The mint cafe does have a wonderful menu and servers there are seriously great. It’s good to hear they’re doing well.

As you are, I am over-the-moon thrilled that P.East and Mint will be finding homes closer to mine. Here’s hoping that P. East will also offer their fabulous Malaysian dishes at the new locale. I think they are also looking for an October opening.

Me too! October is going to be a great month – fall weather, clambakes and two great restaurants in our backyard!
