By way of the cleveland.com food forum, I saw this link to Michael Ruhlam’s blog post on the Velvet Tango Room. It’s a good post, and also a good blog. Very cool to learn that Anthony Bourdain (I can’t wait until Aug 27 when No Reservations/Cleveland airs) and Wynton Marsalis enjoyed the VTR and that Michael Ruhlman still calls Cleveland home.
I’ve only been to the VTR twice and really enjoyed it both times. It’s true, you do feel like you walk through the door and stepped back 60 years. The bar itself is gorgeous with all its handcrafted detail. The black and white TV is charming and the drinks are the best around. It’s been close to two years since I’ve been there, that’s way too long. Time to go back and this time I’ll have to try the chocolate fondue.
