A quote from the article:

Bourdain e-mailed to Ruhlman: “I have to say I’m really pissed and a bit hurt that anyone could see the Cleveland show as anything but a love letter.”

I love this, it seems my opinion of Bourdain as a fake, tv sell-out is wrong, he has some pride in what he does, still…outside of the kitchen. Great! My impressions of him have increased enormously.

I’ve alway somehow understood the Bourdain vocabulary of double negatives, and cloudy, guarded expressions of optimism. I can relate, but to see that he, his books and his show are have the same begrudged backbone, this is very much appreciable no matter your perspective.

A love letter to cleveland….this means he still cares…ohhhhhhh.
