The Gamekeeper’s group, the people that own, well, Gamekeeper’s in Chagrin Falls, as well as The Inn of Chagrin Falls, Bass Lake Tavern and the original 87 W, have recently opened a spin-off of the original, called 87 W 2 in Crocker Park.
The wine bar will feature a selection of 120 wines from Ohio and the globe, as well as martinis, local brews and specialty coffees. To soak up your alcohol, the menu will feature a variety of cheeses, tapas and desserts. According to the press release, signature dishes include: sweet lump crab meat tacos, Tuscan pulled chicken melt. Ritz crusted Australian lamb loin and Maine lobster nachos.
Jonathan Guest will serve as executive chef. Guest, who has never stepped foot in a culinary school, was previously executive chef at XO.
I haven’t checked this place out, but definitely plan to – especially since I have two sisters close by. We’re fans of the original 87 W. I admit the wine list there could use some help, but the patio in the summer is fantastic and they carry a variety of cheeses from Baricelli.
Look for the Gamekeeper’s group to strike again in the very near future, this time with a gourmet cafe next to the Inn, Tavern and 87 W (they basically own that street in the Falls), called Village Exchange.
