What a great evening we had on Friday night. Since it has been some time since we’ve been to Fahrenheit, we decided to head there for an early dinner (I mean early – Dr. Phil was still on the TV when we got there!).
We sat at the bar and decided to order a variety of things from the happy hour menu. We went with the sweet potato fries with garlic mayo, California BLT wrap with avocado spread, Bavarian soft pretzel with apple gouda sausage and spicy mustard, pulled pork slider with coleslaw and a fried dill pickle and a Magic Hat #9 for Jamie.
My personal favorite was the pretzel. The rather large pretzel was piping hot, crusty on the outside and soft inside. I really enjoyed it. I also enjoyed the BLT, although I would have preferred more avocado – you can never have enough avocado. The fries were good, too, but I didn’t care for the mayo. Instead, I asked for a side of ketchup which did the trick. Jamie was really happy with the pork slider – really happy. His only complaint was the size, but considering it was happy hour, it was portion appropriate. The sausage that accompanied the pretzel also won him over. And surprisingly, we both enjoyed the fried pickle. I’ve never had a fried pickle. It was interesting, different and not bad at all.
Our total bill including tip was $32! We were full, enjoyed a good variety of food at one of the city’s best spots and didn’t spend a lot in the process. How can you beat that? Next up will be Flying Fig and Crop – we haven’t checked out those happy hour specials yet this year and I continue to hear good things.
On the way out we saw Rocco and briefly chatted. He told us the street patio should be in this week and to look for a new happy hour menu as well.
