Just received this e-mail from Light Bistro. This should make for a fun Monday outing, and at $25 per person, it’s pretty reasonable, too.
Monday Tapas and Tasting Series
On Monday September 8, 2008 at 6:30pm, Light Bistro will begin a series of “Regional Tapas and Wine Tastings”. The series will continue every other Monday in the newly designed upstairs private dining room at Light Bistro. Chef Matt will pair an array of tapas plates and wines from a specific area of the world. The series is designed to be an informal and casual, yet fun and informative, way to learn about food and wine.
The first tasting will focus on flavors from Spain. The dishes for the evening will feature both traditional and contemporary Spanish cooking and eating habits. Many of the ingredients will be familiar to those who have never visited the Mediterranean region. A few of the highlighted menu items include:
*Cracked Marinated Olives
*Shrimp and Fava Bean Salad with Manchego
*Baked Mussels with Herb and Garlic Butter
*Garlic Pan Fried Bread and Chorizo
*Zucchini Fritters with Pine Nut Dipping Sauce
*Spanish Meatballs in Almond Sauce
*Mini Pork Brochettes
Tracy English, owner of Private Reserve Wines, will be on hand to discuss the selected wines with our guests. The selected wines will be available for sale at state minimum prices that evening. The featured wines will include:
Dibon Brut Reserva Cava
Marquis Albarino BlendA
zabache Granache Rioja
Pagos de Quintana Tempernillo Crianza
Barbadillo Pedro Ximenez
The cost is $25, not including tax. Reservations are recommended. Contact Light Bistro at 216-7717-7130 for more details or to reserve your space today.
