Who doesn’t like a good deal? Of course we all do, hence the popularity of sites like Groupon and LivingSocial. And that guy on Ch. 3 in the morning seems to have carved out a nice little niche for himself showcasing fun little finds at great bargains.
Well now we can add another one to this mix: HalfOffCLE’s SociallyDEALicious – and this newbie focuses just on all things 216 with a nice little twist.
Meet Fionna Faulk, the woman behind this new venture. After wisely moving back to Northeast Ohio from living out west, Faulk decided to throw her hat into the daily-deal ring, but with an added “umph and allure” that she said others were missing. More importantly, she wanted to create a site that gave back, as this one does, by donating a portion of each sale to a select number of local charities and nonprofits.
Groupon they are not. Sure, like Groupon, HalfOffCLE features daily deals offering a significant savings (HalfOffCLE boasts a 40% – 70% savings). But this site is all about supporting local, Cleveland-area business (like restaurants, events, plays, outdoor activities and more). Further, they take less of a cut from fellow local merchants, and enabled the charitable giving as an integral function of the site.
This site is just launching and looking to grow support and interest. To help fuel some word-of-mouth, they are giving away an iPad 3 plus 10 gift cards just by signing up. Further, each time you help spread the word by sharing your contest entry on Facebook, Twitter, or even email – and someone you’ve shared the news with also enters – you will receive an additional two entries. Head here to sign up and enter the contest.
Happy saving.
